Research-Creation Themes

Research-Creation Overview

My artwork and writings emerge from research-creation processes, for I work as an artistic researcher in and outside of the university setting.

This means that my works include explicit experimentation, reflection, and often formal evaluation.

Alongside the art sit various theoretical and alternative creative writings. These include: peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, etc. Outcomes of this work can include educational frameworks and learning experiences for schools; daring curricula; novel audience interaction strategies; workshop series; and new creative methods.

I group my artworks and writings into thematic research strands, where one of them opens doors to generate the next, creating chains of experimental development, realisation, reflection and learning. As Professor in Theatre, University College Cork, you can see my full academic profile including listings of publications here . The buttons below take you to various strands of research, and the top of this page shows you some of the themes of my research.
