B(earth) was an investigation of the relationship between the choreographic act of wielding a paintbrush, and the choreographic act of phonation and extension of that phonation. During a residency at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Art de Limoges-Aubusson, painter and videographer Ludivine Allegue and I worked simultaneously on a sound recording and the double canvas B(earth). The resulting work, illuminated from behind and projected with video facing the painting, was subsequently shown in the Galerie Talmart (Paris), Alsager Gallery (UK), University of Glamorgan (UK), and the video work in festivals in the National Gallery of Nitra (Slovakia), the Theatre Academy of Finland, and at a range of other venues in Spain and France.

Painting, installation and lighting; video editing: Ludivine Allegue. Voice, Yvon Bonenfant
